A Happy Ending

Tags: , , ,

The young woman stepped out of the shower and, in what she assumed to be the privacy of her own home, slipped into her terrycloth robe.  Hearing a sudden crash at the back of her house, she ran to the bedroom window, looked down into her yard, and saw, in the blink of an eye, two men in ski masks burst through her back door.  Her first instinct was to protect the baby: her four-month-old daughter, asleep in her crib.  The woman grabbed her cell phone, ran to the baby’s room, and locked the door.  With her heart pounding in her chest, she dialed 911.  Thankfully, the police arrived in time to apprehend the suspects before they could hurt — or worse — the woman and her child.   This is a true story; it happened to one of my in-laws.

The young mother still shudders to think what may have happened had she been in the shower a few minutes longer and had not been able to make that call.  Immediately after this terrifying incident, she and her husband contacted a professional service to install a home security system in their residence.  The family now has greater peace of mind.  It was an investment well worth making, actually less expensive than my in-laws had assumed it would be.

If you, too, prize the safety of your family and your belongings, contact reliable, ADT-authorized professionals: contact home security benton.  With a range of options for a network of security monitoring devices and immediate linkage to your local police department, you can rest a bit easier.

Now that my in-laws are more confident of their personal safety and the security of their home, they’re relaxing a little more.  One of the things that they’re enjoying is DirectTV.  With nearly 300 channels in all, and more than 160 of those in HD format, she enjoys her movies and concerts, he settles in with his sports and news programs, and their little girl, now 17 months old, loves her animated movies.

Don’t you just love happy endings?    ☺
