Get Your Ride Ready

Before you hit the highway, it’s important to make sure you have the right motorcycle accessories and that your bike is ready for the road.  While some hardier bikers ride year-round, many put their bikes in the garage during the coldest part of the winter.  When you bring your bike out in the spring, there are several things you should do to ensure it’s road-ready.  Check the tires for leaks and bald spots and replace if necessary.  Change your oil and top off all fluids.  Inspect the chain or belt for wear or breaks, and oil the chain well.  Inspect your brakes for proper stopping power, and make sure all of your lights and turn signals are in working order.  Also check the clutch and throttle connections to ensure everything is working properly.  If you are well-versed in bike maintenance, you can do this yourself, but it’s always good to have a professional check things over so you don’t have to worry.
