To my readers: Apathy,is the reason why America is becoming a Third World nation. To many people are depending on someone else to do the the dirty work. George Washinton and his ilk are the reason we are the gteatest nation on the face of the earth. We have to become doer’s instead of complainer’s to keep tjis precious gift named America!

I am going to go one step further than the poster above and bemoan the fact that responsibility, period, seems to have disappeared from our society. From the bailouts for big banks and industry to the school kids who must be taught to acquire critical thinking skills as they seem to possess none of their own, duty has flown the coop along with honor, integrity, respect, and truth. It’s refreshing to read about a genuine American hero; thank you.

This sounds like a true hero. We don’t hear enough about real heroes anymore, and I don’t know if that is because so few of them exist or if we are all so self-absorbed in our loss of our jobs and homes and other terrible things, or if we just give more attention to those who grab the headlines and contribute nothing of real value to our society.
