In a new commercial featuring American actress and model Heather Graham and presented by MoveOn.org, the need for a public option in our current debate over health insurance reform is illustrated metaphorically as a Track Meet. Characterizing existing health insurance providers as bloated and lethargic, the advertisement makes a strong case for a public option as a means of enhancing marketplace competition and by inference, containing costs. Regardless of your position on universal healthcare and the public option, I’m certain we can all agree that most males viewing the commercial would choose Heather Graham as their “public option.”
